Gerakies is a picturesque village in Nicosia, Cyprus, located 75 km southwest of the city at an altitude of 925 meters in the green valley of Marathasa, near the Kykkos Monastery and Kalopanayiotis. Known for its cobbled streets, traditional stone houses, and cool summer climate, it offers a peaceful retreat from urban life. Once a thriving community with agriculture and mining, Gerakies now has about 100 residents who produce local delicacies like soutzoukos and rose water.
